Who we are
Condividiamo Energia is a cooperative, established in July 2024, whose mission is to develop and manage energy communities in Italy using exclusively 100% renewable energy, while maximizing energy sharing in order to generate benefits for all participants and, more broadly, for the energy system as a wholeiù in generale, del sistema energetico.
The model that has been designed, implemented, and refined is based on a highly flexible and open structure, allowing all interested parties (companies, private citizens, public entities, etc.) to participate by taking on the role they prefer (producer, consumer, third-party producer, financier, etc.).
The Condividiamo Energia cooperative was founded by members operating in the ICT and energy sectors. Thanks also to this background, the cooperative is equipped with all the necessary digital tools and technical expertise to develop, operate, and manage energy communities and their related facilities. These tools and skills are in fact crucial to achieving the objective of maximizing collective benefit while keeping the various renewable energy communities balanced and economically sustainable.
Inclusivity
The cooperative is the most flexible and manageable corporate structure in a context where maximum flexibility of participation must be guaranteed. Anyone who holds an energy supply contract (with a corresponding POD), with the exception of large enterprises, may participate in an energy community operating in their local area.
Who are the stakeholders interested in an Energy Community (REC):
Sustainability
All initiatives promoted, developed, managed, or supported by the cooperative are fully oriented toward environmental, energy, economic, and social sustainability.
We believe we can contribute to sustainability in its broader sense by fostering the creation and growth of initiatives that pursue the objectives set out by current regulations.
Sharing & Ethics
The cooperative sets general objectives that are applicable to all contexts and local realities, in initiatives related to energy communities. These principles are defined in the bylaws and governed by the regulations. The management of the cooperative is strongly oriented toward full transparency and the continuous sharing of all information concerning the life of the cooperative itself.
The benefits generated by the energy communities will be directed to the members of each community and to the territories in which each community operates.
Innovation
Our approach is strongly characterized by a technological component, which we consider essential for the proper management of such a complex and multifaceted topic.
From our experience, careful assessment of the sustainability of initiatives and management based on advanced and reliable technological tools are extremely important.
Through appropriate tools, management becomes highly prudent and efficient. In particular, all members of the energy communities (RECs) will have access to solutions for monitoring the status of activities, reporting on shared energy, tracking the economic benefits derived from energy sharing, as well as for remote participation in members’ meetings and managing voting.
Organizational and Management Model
The Condividiamo Energia cooperative is managed by a three-member Board of Directors, which operates to achieve the objectives set out in the bylaws.
- Approval of the financial statements
- Allocation of the surplus and distribution of profits within the limits established by law
- Appointment of directors and the structure of the governing body
- Appointment of the sole statutory auditor or the board of statutory auditors, including its chairperson
- Amendments to the articles of incorporation
- Decision to join a cooperative group on an equal basis
- Approval of internal regulations
- Appointment of liquidators and determination of the criteria for carrying out the liquidation
For each REC or CACER, the possible establishment of local Technical Committees is envisaged, composed of representatives of the stakeholders involved in the creation and development of the REC/CACER, local businesses, and other representatives who can contribute to the management of the REC/CACER.
The functions of each Technical Committee are as follows:
If no Technical Committee has been established for a specific REC, the functions listed above will be carried out by the Board of Directors.
- Oversee the implementation of the resolutions of the Board of Directors or the General Meeting concerning the specific REC
- Define the details that, in compliance with the Regulations, specify its application for the specific Configuration, thereby establishing the Specific Regulation, with particular reference to the weights to be assigned to allocation criteria
- Propose to the Board of Directors the admission, suspension, removal, or expulsion of members associated with the Configuration
- Promote member participation in the activities of the energy community
- Coordinate all aspects of members’ activities within the REC projects
renewable energy communities : What are they?
The Renewable Energy Community (REC) represents an innovative tool that allows businesses, citizens, and local authorities to actively contribute to the ecological and energy transition of our country.
According to Italian legislation, a REC is an independent legal entity to which individuals and organizations—both private and public—can join as members, deciding to collaborate in the shared production and consumption of energy from renewable sources.
Through energy sharing, a REC primarily aims to provide its members and the local communities in which it operates with multiple benefits:
- Reduction of climate-altering and polluting emissions
- Bringing production and consumption closer together
- Reduction of energy costs
- Incentives granted to participants for shared energy
- Lower operating costs of major national distribution networks
- Reduced dependence on price fluctuations of non-renewable energy sources
- Increased efficiency through the reduction of energy losses in large-scale distribution networks
- Strengthening of community ties
- Support for the most vulnerable segments of the population through reduced energy costs (combating energy poverty)
- Encouragement of citizen and business participation in energy consumption that aligns with renewable production patterns
- Greater energy self-sufficiency for local territories
- Use of economic resources for social purposes or public utility projects in the areas served by the REC
The development of energy communities and the local energy-sharing model effectively enables a reorganization of the national energy system, with the presence of both energy production and consumption within local territories. In essence, energy is no longer produced solely by large power plants and transmitted through high-voltage lines; instead, it is produced and consumed locally (decentralized or distributed model).
To facilitate the transition to this new model, the Ministry of Environment and Energy Security has made financial resources available, which are allocated to communities and, in turn, distributed to their members based on the volume of energy shared locally among them.

Structure and Operation of the Energy Community
A REC may include multiple CACERs, meaning energy-sharing configurations (one for each primary substation)
Economic Flows
- Scenario simulation (using a dedicated “modeling tool”)
- Support in selecting the optimal configuration (balancing consumers and prosumers, identifying the most suitable legal form)
- Support in sizing the systems (generation, storage, etc.) based on past consumption and estimated future consumption
- Definition of implementation criteria (internal and/or third-party investments, simulation of economic and financial values for all stakeholders – REC members, potential investors, etc.)
- Preparation of preliminary documents (e.g., application)
On a monthly basis, the GSE recognizes to each REC/CACER the economic values corresponding to the recorded energy balances.
The Condividiamo Energia cooperative redistributes the revenues among members, as all economic flows received by the REC must be distributed among members (producers, consumers, etc.) and the manager according to the rules established in the REC’s Regulations.
Benefits
-
Reduction of energy costs for self-consumption
-
Income from land lease rights (if the producer does not build the system)
- Income from the sale of energy not consumed or shared (if the producer builds the system)
-
Income from GSE incentives on energy not consumed but shared (if the producer builds the system)
